In the exhibition “Soul
and Beauty of Japan”, the Japanese national TV, NHK, presents
a rare opportunity to experience High Definition through 4 documentaries
especially created for the exhibition. Each film lasting 15 minutes
will guide the viewer through important cultural aspects of the
Japanese mediaeval and early modern era, including objects from
the exhibition “Soul and Beauty of Japan”.
Every hour on the hour:
- Art and Architecture of the Muromachi Period
- Cha no yu – The Way of the Tea
Every hour, half past the hour:
- The Noh Theatre
- The Aesthetics of the Bushi
High definition delivers the highest quality of video technology
today. Its resolution is double the standard of other systems. The
difference between cinema quality and video quality disappears: High
definition has reached a standard comparable to a Super 16mm film.
The commercial TV industry and film directors such as Wim Wenders
and Steven Spielberg use this technology for their productions, some
of the reasons being the reasonable costs as well as the convenience
use of computer generated effects. High definition is very popular
in Japan and also in the USA. |
