We offer a wide range of opportunities for children, young people and families to take part: Guided tours for children, workshops, holiday programmes, audio tours and specific offers to suit almost every current exhibition.

Offers for children

We offer workshops for children aged 4 to 13 on selected dates for each exhibition. These pick up on the content of the exhibition, explore it in greater depth, enable a practical artistic exploration of the themes and allow individual aspects and artistic approaches to be experienced.

Guided tours for children allow them to explore the exciting exhibitions. There is plenty of time for questions and the children set the pace.

Whether Easter, summer or autumn holidays - we also offer holiday programmes.

Offers for teenagers

Depending on the exhibition and theme, we offer workshops for young people. Whether it's a theatre workshop over several weeks including a performance, multi-day holiday offers and film workshops or three-hour creative offers - throughout the year, young people have various opportunities to discover art, culture and new things.

Offers for families

Our family workshops are ideal for families who like to work together creatively and practically. Here you can paint, craft and invent whatever you like. There are (almost) no limits to the imagination.

Celebrate your birthday

Children and young people can celebrate their birthday with their friends at the Bundeskunsthalle: together with one of our freelance staff, the birthday guests go on an exploratory tour of the exhibition on one of our birthday themes.

The participants then create their own work of art using various artistic materials in our workshop room. After the two-hour workshop, each birthday guest goes home with their own masterpiece. It is possible to bring edible snacks and drinks to our workshop room and enjoy them there during the two-hour workshop.

Books & Reading

As we have our own library in the Bundeskunsthalle, reading is very important to us. There are book tables in selected exhibitions and a separate reading area in the library with literature for children and young people.

Accompanying materials for the exhibitions in child-friendly language and the option of borrowing books and media from us open up many opportunities to engage with the topics outside of the exhibition.
